John Wisdom is a C-suite communications advisor recognized for strategies that elevate executive visibility, transform culture, inspire stakeholders, and build brand equity. With 20 years’ experience as a Fortune 100 communications leader, Wisdom has a track record of shaping and developing distinctive leadership narratives, and a deep understanding of large-scale corporate culture and transformation.
Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Wisdom was a corporate communications and brand leader at GE. He served on the senior staff at Crotonville, GE’s global leadership institute, responsible for advancing the company’s annual investment of $1 billion in talent development worldwide. His work enabled GE to earn and maintain the #1 ranking as the world’s Top Company for Leaders.
Previously, Wisdom was senior communications advisor to the CEO of TIAA, a financial services firm with $1 trillion in assets under management, and the largest private retirement system in the U.S. Wisdom broadened the CEO’s platform to encompass issues in retirement security, higher education, health care, corporate governance, and regulatory reform, with major speeches to the Council on Foreign Relations, World Economic Forum, World Bank, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Previously, through his own executive communications practice, Wisdom represented Novartis, the first company to sign the UN Global Compact, and the Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development. Other clients included McKinsey & Company, Johnson & Johnson, Time Warner, and The Wall Street Journal.
Wisdom graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
